Jerome W Seigel, 93 years of age, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of West Hartford, CT, died Tuesday, October 12. He was married 68 years to the late Ann (Weinstein) Seigel. Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Edward and Kathrine (Bloom) Seigel. He leaves behind his sons, Paul Seigel of New Haven, CT, David Seigel of Brooklyn, NY, and Marc Seigel of Elkton, MD; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Neal R. Seigel and a brother Sheldon Seigel. Jerome was a US Army veteran of World War II. After serving in the Army, he attended the prestigious Pratt Institute and graduated with an electrical engineering degree. He was employed by General Electric and retired after 35 years from the Plainville, CT location. He served on the IEEE Code Board for Electrical Code Standards. He was involved in the Connecticut Learning Disability Assoc. for many years and served as treasurer of the Connecticut LDA Chapter. He was a volunteer fireman in his younger years and enjoyed photography, reading and working around the house. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Sunday, October 17, at the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield, CT with Rabbi David J Small officiating.
