Joan G. ("Joanie") Baron

Joan G. Baron, 87, formerly of Bloomfield, wife of Melvin (Mike) J. Baron, passed away Wednesday April 17, 2019. She was born on September 5, 1931 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Benjamin & Hazel (Novak) Gordon. In 1949, she met the love of her life, Mike, and they were married in 1952 enjoying a life together of good times and tough times and celebrated 65 years of marriage. They shared many adventures traveling and boating together but always coming home to their “children”, Suzie, Samantha, Sadie, Phoebe, Maggie and Miss Abigail. Besides her parents, Joanie was predeceased by Mike in 2017. Joan is survived by her nephews Merrill Apter and family, Howard Baron and family and Miss Abigail. The family wishes to thank the nurses and aides at the Hebrew Center for Health and Rehabilitation, especially Trish and Mel. A graveside service will be held Monday, April 22, 2019 at 2pm at the Hartford City Lodge Cemetary, 401 Tower Avenue, Hartford, CT officiated by Rabbi Philip Lazowski.
