Joan Cable Cornfield, née Gould, 80, of West Hartford, died Tuesday, (December 13, 2022) at home with her children by her side. Born in Boston and raised in Newton MA, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Bernice (Cable) Gould. She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen Joseph “Joe” Cornfield. She graduated from Brandeis University and spent many years as an interior decorator and restauranteur. She leaves her son, Gene Cornfield and his wife Gillian of Essex, MA; her daughter, Julie Cornfield of Hollywood, FL; three grandchildren, Jordan, Jaden and Jonas; her sister, Karen Gould of Massachusetts. A flawless and unwaveringly devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, her renowned wit, intelligence, creativity, integrity and kindness will be missed by the many who loved her. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, at 11 a.m. at Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with interment at 2 p.m. at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham St., Sharon MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or a charity of your choice.
