KRUTT. Judith Blossom (Weiss) Krutt, age 87, died peacefully on January 11, 2018 at home in Manchester ,CT , after an extended struggle with cancer, under the loving care and compassion of VNA & Hospice. Judy was born November 19, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Max and Elizabeth Weiss. She grew up in Hartford, CT and graduated from Weaver High School in 1948 and the University of Connecticut in 1951. In 1951, Judy married the love of her life Bernard Krutt and they moved to Manchester, CT. Mr. Krutt joined Battery Ignition Co. Inc. in Hartford, which operated for 75 years with Judy working at the company as office manager and bookkeeper for more than 20 years. In addition to raising their three sons she was very active member and volunteer of Temple Beth Shalom B’nai Israel in Manchester for over 50 years, working on many food drives, bloodmobiles, knitting blankets and supplying countless hours as a synagogue librarian. Judy is survived by her husband Bernard of Manchester, CT; her three sons Samuel Krutt and wife Marilyn of Vernon ,CT, Joel Krutt and wife Tobi of Tolland, CT, Daniel Krutt and wife Susan of Newington, CT; six grandchildren, Paula Tracy, Heidi Maynard, Leila Phillips, Hannah Krutt, Joshua Krutt, Alexander Krutt, and six great-grandchildren. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Max Weiss and Elizabeth Weiss of Hartford; as well as her sister, Joan Peskin of Hartford.
Funeral services will be held Sunday January 14th at 10am at the Temple Beth Sholom Memorial Park, Autumn St., Manchester. A memorial period will be observed at the home of Bernard Krutt, 109 Elizabeth Dr., Manchester, through Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Manchester-Hospice, 545 North Main St., Manchester 06040 or to Temple Beth Sholom B’nai Israel, 400 East Middle Turnpike, Manchester 06040. Weinstein Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
