Lee (Ratner) Birnbaum

Lee (Ratner) Birnbaum, 94, of West Hartford, widow of Leon Birnbaum, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010. Born in New Britain, she was the daughtter of the late Samuel and Sarah (Lipman) Ratner. Mrs. Birnbaum was a life member of Hadassah. She leaves her son, Reuben Louis Birnbaum of West Hartford; two daughters: Pamela B. Friedeberg of West Hartford, and Sylvia B. Yasner and her husband Robert of Fairfield; six grandchildren: Laura Friedeberg, Sarah Berman and her husband Josh, Larry Yasner, Melanie Yasner and her fiance Eric Bor; two great grandchildren: Jackie and James Berman; and a sister, Irene Gordon of Palm Beach, FL. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by sisters Belle Weiss and Faye Brenner; and son-in-law William J. Friedeberg. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth Alom Cemetery, New Britain. A memorial period will be observed at the home of her daughter, Pamela B. Friedeberg, 76 Craigmoor Rd., West Hartford on Thursday, following the funeral.
