Lewis Spiegel

d. November 27, 2024

On the 27th of November, 2024 Lewis Spiegel, 74, peacefully passed away at home from a short illness due to cancer. He was predeceased by his mother, Ada (Serota) Spiegel and his father, Carl Spiegel of Kingston, NY and our son, Aron Michael Wilson.

Lewis is survived by his partner and spouse of 38 years (Wayne) Allen Wilson and their daughter Larainne Michelle Wilson of Nashua, NH and her children, twins Aiden Michael Wilson and Autumn Dahlia Wilson. Lewis is also survived by Aron’s two children Alyssa Wilson and Shaina Wilson of Rock Hill, South Carolina and two great grandchildren Aisley Gouge and T. Michael Harris.

He is also survived by his twin brother, Lawrence Spiegel and spouse Linda (Mark) Spiegel of South Windsor, Connecticut and their daughter, his niece, Jennie Miriam Speter of Stamford, Connecticut.

Lewis was a 1972 Graduate of Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.

Lewis was employed by the Travelers Insurance Company after graduating. Later, he transitioned to its successor companies, Citigroup and Metlife. His long and successful Accounting career was only five months short of fifty years. Aside from work, his activities included antique glass collecting and he was a member of the Mountain Laurel Glass Club, The Heisey Glass Collectors of America and the Newport Historical Preservation Society.

Lewis’s kind spirit, good nature and sense of humor as well as his breadth of business knowledge, will be missed by all of those who were fortunate enough to have known him, especially his family, college friends and co-workers.

Lewis was always a donor to the American Cancer Society (ACS) and I would encourage a gift to the ACS specifying Esophageal Cancer research instead of flowers or other remembrances.

Lewis will be laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford, Connecticut on Monday, December 9th, 2024. Graveside services are at 2:00pm.
