Libye (Bozarnick) Fruchtman, 89, of New Britain passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at New Britain General Hospital. She was the widow of Jack Fruchtman to whom she was married for over 50 years. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Stavnezer) Bozarnick. As a young woman she worked for Birnbaum Furniture Co. In New Britain. She went on to work for Angelo Tomasso, Inc. in New Britain and enjoyed the many years she was employed there. She was a past president of Women in Construction, a past president of the Hebrew Ladies Aid Society, a past president of Soroptimist, a member of the Repertory Theater of New Britain, and a member of and volunteer for the Handicap Swim Club. She was also a member of Congregation Tephereth Israel of New Britain. Libye initiated and directed a New Britain Jewish Youth Group, which had a positive impact on the lives of many people. She was well known, respected and admired by everyone who knew her; to so many people she was known as that ?special lady?. Her greatest love was her family who adored her. In her later years, her entire life was devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved spending time with their ?Bubby or Bubbala?. She was a woman to be admired and she will be greatly missed. She was the beloved mother of Sandi Moss and her husband Joel of West Hartford, and Joyce Levine and her husband Peter of Old Saybrook; cherished grandmother of Scott Moss and his wife Denise of West Hartford, Naomi Siegel and her husband David of Farmington, Debra Madden and her husband Marty of Newtown, and Ann-Dee Levine of Seattle, WA. She was the loving great-grandmother of Amanda Moss, John Moss, Danielle Siegel, Ryan Moss, Connor Moss and Erin Moss. She also leaves a sister Ceil Davidson of Norwich and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Naomi Block, and a brother Phil Bazarnik. The family wishes to express special gratitude to Maria and Paulaine. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 27, 2007 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Marshal Press officiating. Interment will follow in Beth Alom Cemetery, New Britain. A memorial period will be observed at 245 Monroe St., New Britain Sunday following the funeral and Monday and Tuesday 1:30-8:30 pm.
