Lois (Baumstein) Gordon

Lois (Baumstein) Gordon, of Vista Way, Bloomfield, wife of Barry D. Gordon, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 in the presence of her family. Born in Hartford, she was raised in West Hartford, the daughter of the late Samuel and May (Hyman) Baumstein. She attended local schools and Bryant College. She worked at Mount Sinai Hospital and other medical facilities. She lived in Bloomfield for 50 years where she was a member of Beth Hillel Synagogue. Lois was also a volunteer at the Hebrew Home and Hospital. She leaves her husband, Barry D. Gordon of Bloomfield, two daughters: Sheri G. Rifkin and her husband Dr. Richard Rifkin of Chappaqua, NY, and Wendy Gordon of Manhattan; and two grandchildren: Allison Beth Rifkin and Daniel Gordon Rifkin. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Gary Atkins, Rabbi Philip Lazowski and Rabbi Joel Soffin officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, East Granby. A Memorial Period will be observed at her home through Sunday.
