Lola (Yvette Lewin) Cohen

Lola Yvette (Lewin) Cohen of Hartford, wife of Myron A. Cohen died Sunday, (January 24, 2010) at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, NY. she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Gussie Lewin. She was a retired teacher in the Hartford Public School System. Mrs. Cohen was a member of Beth Hillel Synagogue Jewish Women International, B’nai Brith International. and the American Association, for Family and Consumer Education. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son. Craig Cohen and his wife Jeri of Grantham, NH, a daughter, Marla Cohen of Hartford, two grandsons, Brendan Cohen and Sawyer Cohen. Funeral services will be TODAY, Monday, January 25, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Beth Hillel Synagogue, 160 Wintonbury Avenue, Bloomfield, with burial in Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, East Granby. Shiva will be observed at her home. Memorial contributions may be made to Beth Hillel Synagogue, 160 Wintonbury Avenue, Bloomfield or to the Komen Breast Cancers Foundation of CT, 350 Church Street, Hartford.
