Lola Fox, of Colchester, born April 10, 1923, passed away at her home on Tuesday May 30th, with her family at her side. Born in Lodz, Poland to parents Jacob and Chava Zylberman, she was 2 of 6 siblings to survive the Holocaust. She survived the Lodz Ghetto, Auschwitz concentration camp, and other work and slave labor camps before being liberated by the Russians in May 1945. Lola was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Morris, her beloved daughter Eva, and her brother Max. She leaves a son, Jack, and his wife Audrey; daughter, Marilyn, and her husband Dennis Latchum; son-in-law, Roy Goldstein; grandchildren Attorney Damon Goldstein and Michelle Fox; nephews Jacob, Jonas, Sol, and David Zylberman and their families; and her special friend Rosa Cano.
Funeral services for Lola will be held on Friday June 2 at 10:00 AM at Cong. Ahavath Achim, 84 Lebanon Ave., Colchester, with interment to follow at Cong. B’nai Sholom Cemetery, Jordan Lane Ext., Wethersfield. Shiva will be observed on Sunday June 4 from 3:00-7:00 PM at 263 Old Hebron Rd., Colchester. Contributions can be made to Cong. Ahavath Achim or the U.S. Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, CT.
