Lorraine (Rita (Alpert)) Nodelman

Lorraine Rita (Alpert) Nodelman, 77 years of age, of West Hartford died Wednesday October 24. Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Ruth (Swirsky) Alpert. Lorraine graduated from the New London Hospital School of Nursing before obtaining a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in education from Boston University. After working as a registered nurse for several years, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Counseling from St. Joseph College in West Hartford and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University in New York. In addition to counseling, she enjoyed teaching at several area community colleges. She leaves her husband, Walter Nodelman; her children, Jeremy Nodelman and his wife, Jennifer, of Attleboro, MA, Andrew Nodelman and his wife, Deborah, of Manchester, CT, and Laura Greene and her husband, Kevin, of Arlington, VA; her brother, Alan Alpert and his wife, Meryl, of Hamden; her sister, Sandra Cone and her husband, Michael, of Hamden; and two grandchildren, Ashley Nodelman, and Caden Nodelman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30AM on Tuesday October 30th at Fairview Cemetery, 200 Whitman Avenue, West Hartford. Following the interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at Grant’s Restaurant, 977 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United States Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
