Mae (Gottfried) Wichman

Mae Wichman, age 99, of Middletown, Connecticut, formerly of Manchester and Clinton, Connecticut, died April 26, 2015. She was predeceased by her parents Isadore and Hinda Gottfried, her sister Sarah, her brother Abe and her beloved husband of 72 years Barney. She is survived by her four children David, Michael, Kenneth and Rachel, her five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A graduate of Hale Ray High School in East Haddam, CT, she was the first ever bookkeeper of the former Banner Lodge in Moodus, Connecticut. After her marriage she was a home maker and when her children were older, she assisted in her husband’s podiatry office in Manchester, CT. Mae was an excellent cook. She enjoyed many years traveling between Clinton, CT and Naples, FL. until the passing of years led her to assisted living in One MacDonough Place in Middletown, CT. The family wishes to thank the One MacDonough Place staff and her full time aides Sona and Maureen for her excellent care.

There will a graveside funeral at the Beth Sholom B’nai Israel Memorial Park, corner of Autumn and Glenwood Streets, Manchester, CT at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday April 28, 2015. Shiva will be observed Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. at 205 Homestead Street, No. B-7, Manchester, CT
