Marilyn Rockitter Cantor, 74 years of age, of Glastonbury, CT passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 after courageously fighting a long battle with bronchiectasis. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Jack and Sylvia Rockitter. She was a graduate of Brooklyn College and had completed graduate level coursework in support of her profession as a speech and language pathologist. Marilyn took great pride in her work with people of all ages, but particularly the elderly, many of whom she helped transition off of feeding tubes, and especially young children at Grace Webb School.

Marilyn enjoyed watching the UConn basketball teams, playing scrabble, following political and current events, and had an affinity for dogs, particularly Missy and Lily. Additionally, she was a member of Congregation Kol Haverim.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Allison Cantor, as well as her nephews, Brandt and Andrew Seligman. She was predeceased by her former husband, Gene Cantor, and her sister, Susan Levy.

Funeral services will take place at noon on Sunday, December 15, 2024 in the chapel of Congregation Kol Haverim (1079 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury). Interment will follow at the Kol Haverim Cemetery (1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield). Immediately following the interment, family and friends will gather at Congregation Kol Haverim. Shiva will be observed at the home of her daughter, Allison Cantor, on Monday, December 16, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to NTM Info & Research (www.ntminfo.org; Click on “Donate”), an organization that supports bronchiectasis research.
