Marilyn “Mimi” (Rudnick) Frankel, 68 years of age of Bloomfield, CT, formerly of West Hartford, CT, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014. Born in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late Max and Molly (Lable) Rudnick. She leaves her son, Marc Frankel and his wife Taylor of Hoboken, NJ and her beloved Grandson Preston; two sisters, Helayne Levy of Venice, CA and Jacqueline Schneider of Forest Hills, NY,Sister in law Debbie Rome of Bloomfield, CT, and Predeceased by her sister Corinne Krasner and Predeceased by her husband Peter and also leaves behind several nieces and nephews; Jonathan and Matthew Rome, Michael, Robin, Amy, Joshua, Jacob, Rebecca, and Jillian. Mimi graduated from Weaver High school and attended Central Connecticut State University. She started her career at GFox Hartford and held several retail positions before ending her career as a part time sales associate at Bobs Discount furniture. For 9 years she was one of the top part time sales reps in the entire company She also worked 18 years as the Voice of Environmental Risk/GZA as a receptionist. Mimi was a dedicated wife to her husband Peter for 39 years. She was wonderful mother to her son Marc and his family. Her entire life revolved around her family and friends. She had a love for life that was infectious and a heart of Gold. Her true passion was cooking and for 35 years she put together Thanksgiving Dinners together for her family which she loved right up the very end of her life. Her smile will be missed by anyone that ever met her. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at The Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford, CT with interment following at The Hartford Mutual Cemetery, Garden Street, Hartford, CT. A memorial period will be observed at her home, 16 South Pond Road, Bloomfield, CT through Saturday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Emanuel Synagogue or Smilow Ovarian Cancer wing. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, CT.
