Marilyn Ruth (Wiener) Zimmerman

Marilyn Zimmerman 96, of Ormond Beach passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, July 23rd, 2021, with her daughter by her side. Marilyn was born in Worcester, Massachusetts July 19th, 1925 to the late Isadore and Anna Wiener, she was the only daughter of 4 children.
She is pre-deceased by brothers Marvin (Gertrude) Wiener, and Seymour Wiener. She is survived by youngest brother Edward (Lois) Wiener, Revere, Massachusetts . Marilyn graduated from New Britain High School in 1943 and Hillyer Junior College, now University of Hartford with a bookkeeping degree in 1945. She married the late Abraham Zimmerman on January 1st, 1950, and celebrated 58 years together until his death in 2008. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Ron Frederick, Ormond Beach, 3 grandchildren Scott (Leigh) Frederick, Jason (Kimberly) Frederick, and Cody (Kathleen) Frederick, and 7 great-grandchildren, all of Ormond Beach. After working along side her husband, Abe in their family business Colchester Egg Farms in Berlin, Connecticut, for many years during the 50s-70s, the family moved to Florida in 1972 where Abe started a new venture in Real Estate and Marilyn wasn’t ready to retire, so she opted to find work as manager of a small gift shop for the Doliner Family, where she was employed for almost 20 years. Marilyn was a life-long member of Hadassah. She enjoyed traveling, bingo, shopping, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Her motto in her college yearbook was “What I save, I lose, what I give, I gain.” A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 29th, 2021 at Beth Alom Cemetery, New Britain,Connecticut, with Rabbi Jeffrey Bennett officiating.
