Marsh Tellan

Marsh J. Tellan, 82, of West Hartford, CT passed away on September 24, 2024. Marsh was predeceased by his wife of 56 years Louise (Novogrod) Tellan and his parents Sadye and Samuel Tellan. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Lee), Anne (Jacob) and Amy; and his grandchildren Noam, Sapir, Hadas, Samuel and Mason. Born in Portland, Maine, Marsh graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts and Westfield State University with a Master of Education. He proudly served for 30 years in the U.S. Army Reserve attaining the rank of Colonel and awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements. He devotedly worked in civil service for the U.S. Dept. of the Army for 31 years. Marsh was a 32º Mason and Shriner with the Solar Star Lodge in Bath, Scottish Rite Valley of Portland, and Kora Shrine. The Maine Masons awarded Marsh the 50-year Veterans Medal in 2013. An avid sports fan, his favorite teams were the Florida Panthers, Boston Red Sox, UCONN basketball, and Miami Dolphins. Marsh was a loving and supportive son, nephew, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Funeral service will be held graveside on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 12:30pm at Beth El Temple Cemetery, 51 Jackson Street in Avon, CT.
