Maxine (Cutler) Dorfman

Maxine Cutler Dorfman, 88, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2024. She leaves her son Andrew Dorfman and his wife Rebecca; her brother-in-law Kenneth Wasserman along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was pre-deceased by her parents: Samuel and Tillie (Goldfarb) Cutler; her brother Joel Cutler and her sister Lois Cutler Wasserman

Maxine was a kind, compassionate and loving mother who put her family and her friends first in her life. She was a huge sports fan and fanatically followed all UConn sports. She was very involved in the Cutler Family Circle Cemetery serving as president for over 50 years. She was the person that everyone in the family turned to for help. Maxine was a teacher in Bloomfield and West Hartford until she found her calling as the director of the Early Childhood Education Center at the Jewish Community Center in Hartford.She received her bachelor’s degree from UConn and her master’s degree from Central Connecticut.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 1, 2025 at 11:00am at Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford CT followed by a graveside service at the Cutler Family Circle Cemetery, 63 Hurlbut Street, West Hartford, CT.
