Maxwell (M.) Friedman

d. January 1, 1970

Maxwell M. Friedman on November 1st slipped away peacefully. Born on July 5, 1918, he was the son of the late Barney and Anna Wallad Friedman. Max was a graduate of Weaver High School and later attended the University of Ohio. In 1946 he was discharged from the Army having served for 3 years. Later that year, he co-founded and opened the first Harmac Men’s Clothing Store which was in business for 50 years. In 1972, Max and Claire Elizabeth Meyhr were married and loved every moment of their 43 years together. He was a member of Avon Country Club and a longtime fan of the Boston Red Sox. He served on the Associate Board of Connecticut Bank and Trust in East Hartford, the East Hartford Chamber of Commerce and other civic organizations. Max was predeceased by his sisters Pearl Gellin and Rosalind Fishberg but is survived by his brother Alvin, loving nieces and nephews, Andrea, Amy, Tina, Bruce, Kenneth and their spouses and children. Max will miss playing cards with his good buddies at Avon Country Club. Funeral services are private. Memorial donations may be made to a Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
