Muriel Zeldis, 90, of West Hartford, CT passed away at home on September 26, a month after celebrating her 70th wedding anniversary while wearing a gold paper crown and feeding chocolate cake to her loving husband, William Zeldis. Could there be a more splendid way to end one’s days? She is survived by her daughter Cheri Zeldis-Kolber and son-in-law Michael Kolber, daughter Nancy Zeldis, and daughter and son-in- law Linda and Ari Silverman plus many friends and family. She is survived by five grandchildren, Yoni Silverman, Samantha Silverman, Tali Spencer, Gary Spencer and Brooklyn Alvarez and three great-grandchildren, Noa Silverman, Elan Silverman and Gabriel Spencer. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in- law Lori and Martin Clayman. Muriel lived a full and satisfying life in West Hartford and enjoyed taking her young daughters on outings to the library, zoo and Elizabeth park to smell the roses. She was education-minded and watched with pride as her daughters attend ivy league schools. She graduated from Hall High School in 1950. While a student at UCONN she met her future husband William and decided to finish her studies years later at Central Connecticut State College. She taught English As A Second Language to students at the library. She enjoyed tennis and bridge and square dancing. Muriel enjoyed traveling and spending time wintering in Sarasota, Fl. She loved reading many books at two book clubs and the Hartford Stage. Muriel made the best brisket for the Jewish high holidays. She would do anything for her many friends whom she loved fiercely. We will miss her. Contributions towww.alz.org(Alzheimer’s Association),jfshartford.org(Jewish Family Services) and the Emanuel Synagogue of West Hartford.
