Myrna (Wood) Gitberg, of Hudson Lane, Windsor, wife of Wallace Gitberg, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Born in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Sadie (Finerman) and Max Wood and step-daughter of Anne Wood. A graduate of Classical High School in Springfield, she was the office manager of Hartford Wire Works for 35 years. She was a member of Beth Hillel Synagogue, Bloomfield and a former member of Congregation Beth Ahm, Windsor. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Steven P. Gitberg of Windsor, and Michael L. Gitberg and his wife Penny of Granby; two grandchildren: Emilee H. And Eric J. Gitberg; and a brother Morton Wood of Towson, MD. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary of Beth Hillel Synagogue, 160 Wintonbury Ave., Bloomfield, with Rabbi Gary Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, Wolcott Road, East Granby. A memorial period will be observed at the home of her son Michael, 6 Halwood Dr., Granby through Monday evening.
