Naomi (Netupsky) Larman

d. September 3, 2021

Naomi (Netupsky) Larman, 101 years of age, of Boynton Beach, FL, formerly of West Hartford, CT, died Friday, September 3, 2021. She was the widow of Julius E. Larman. Born in Bristol, CT, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Kaufman) Netupsky. Naomi graduated from New Britain High School in 1938 and from the nurse training program at the Hartford Hospital in December of 1941. After working as an operating nurse for several months, she volunteered for service in the Army Nurse Corps where she served during the War as a First Lieutenant in Australia and the Philippines. Upon conclusion of her military service, she returned to the Hartford area where she married, raised a family and worked as a private duty nurse and at the Hebrew Home for the Aged. She was a member of the Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford. Naomi and Julius retired to Boynton Beach, FL where she enjoyed playing tennis, bridge and entertaining her ever-expanding group of friends and family. To her family and her large network of friends she was known as a consummate chef and baker who enjoyed nothing more than entertaining around her always full dining room table. All that knew her were touched by her kindness, warmth, generosity and compassion. She leaves her sons, Stuart H Larman and his wife Stephanie of Tucson, AZ, and Barry W Larman and his partner Jill Finberg of Portland, ME; her sister, Pearl Shilberg; three grandchildren: Benjamin Larman and his wife Tasha, Sarah Smythers and her husband Jim, and Jacob Larman; and five great-grandchildren: Zola, Ari and Gemma Larman and Julian and Oliver Smythers, and numerous nieces and nephews. Naomi’s family will be forever grateful for the loving and tender care provided in the final years of her life by her companion Ini Halpern. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield, CT with Rabbi David J Small officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Ashford, CT. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, CT.
