Phyllis Stevens

Phyllis (Hymowitz) Mendelsohn Stevens of Simsbury, CT, and Bonita Springs, FL, died peacefully on January 13, 2025, at the age of 86. Phyllis was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 6, 1938, to Sol and Sarah Hymowitz. She was the beloved wife of Arnold Mendelsohn for 50 years until his passing. Phyllis found love again, marrying Paul Stevens, with whom they had over 9 wonderful years together. Phyllis enjoyed bowling, playing Mahjong, going on vacations, and eating out. She worked at American Savings Bank for around 20 years and loved to interact with the customers. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Phyllis is survived by her husband Paul, sons, Stephen of New Britain, and Douglas and his spouse Beth of Newington, and grandsons Joshua and Jordan and close family friend Cathy Ludlum. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 11:00 am at Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, 74 Wolcott Road, East Granby.
