Richard (Jonathan) Brandwein

Richard Jonathan Brandwein, age 54, of West Hartford died on 27 Kislev 5771 (corresponding to December 4, 2010). He was the son of the late Esther Rachel (Bennett) Brandwein and Herbert Brandwein. Born in Greenwich, CT, Richard was raised in Norwalk and Manchester, CT and graduated from Watkinson School in West Hartford, CT. He was a longtime member of Beth David Synagogue in West Hartford, where he was an active volunteer. He was predeceased by his parents and by a brother Raymond Brandwein. He leaves his brother, David I. Brandwein and his wife, Ann, of West Hartford, a niece, Alix Brandwein of New York City, and a nephew, Matthew L. Brandwein and his wife, Anna Plourde, of Watertown, MA. Funeral services will be held on Monday, (December 6, 2010), at 10:30 a.m., in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, with Rabbi Yitzchak Adler of Beth David Synagogue officiating. Interment will follow in the Sharon Gardens/Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. Shiva will be observed at the home of David and Ann Brandwein, 17 Drury Lane, West Hartford, CT for the following week with evening services daily at 7 p.m. at the home except on Shabbat.
