Roslyn (Weinstein) Glazer of Bloomfield died on Monday(February 7, 2011). Born on June 11, 1922 to Samuel and Eva Weinstein in Syracuse, NY. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Lee Winston. Roslyn is survived by her loving husband, Nathan B. Glazer; sons, Elliott (Yung-hwan) Glazer of Houston, TX, Jeffrey (Bonnie)Glazer of West Hartford; daughters, Paula(Howard)Luxenberg of West Hartford, Robin(Frank)Thyrring of South Windsor; grandchildren, Erica(Steven) Levine, Melissa(David)Richman, Yvette(Jeffrey)Rose, Geoffrey Luxenberg, and Scott, Brooke, and Pamela Thyrring; and great grandchildren, Maxwell Diamond, Vivienne Levine, and Jayden Richman. She is survived by a brother, Howard(Rosita)Weinstein of Miami Beach, FL, and a sister, Florence Carmen of Syracuse, NY. Roslyn is also survived by her brother-in-law, Sherwin(Lillian)Glazer of DeWitt, NY, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Roslyn graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Syracuse University and was a teacher most of her life. She worked with preschool children alongside Betty Caldwell, renowned early childhood educator. Prior to retirement, she tutored students at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse. Roslyn enjoyed travel, nature, music, knitting, and playing bridge. She will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness, zest for life, and beautiful smile. The family wishes to extend its thanks and appreciation to the wonderful caring nursing staff on the Davis wing at Seabury in Bloomfield. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford. A shivah luncheon will follow the service at Angelo’s On Main at the Rockledge Golf Course in West Hartford. A private burial will take place on Thursday, February 10, 2011 in Syracuse, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Weinstein Solomon Library Fund of Temple Adath Yeshurun, Fresh Air Fund, or Alzheimer’s Association.
