Roslyn “Roz” Yellin of Delray Beach, FL, the daughter of David and Fannie (Beck) Levin of New Britain, CT, passed away at home in the presence of family on December 8. She was 95 years-old. Roz graduated from The Northfield School and enrolled at Russell Sage College, later transferring to Columbia University to complete her degree in Radio and Television Production. She served as the president of Jewish Children Services and was active in several other Jewish organizations throughout her life. She remained a member of Beth El Temple in West Hartford even after relocating to Florida. Roz became a dedicated supporter of Harc, a non-profit committed to helping individuals with intellectual and related disabilities, when her son, Michael, joined their board. She also strongly supported multiple organizations that help those with vision impairment and cancer. Roz was a Bronze Life Master bridge player and a talented stone sculptor. She was also a sports enthusiast, an avid golfer, and a voracious reader. When her eyesight deteriorated due to glaucoma, she began to devour audio books. She had a passion for politics during her last years and never missed the Rachel Maddow Show. Roz is survived by her daughter, Marlene Wilson of Raleigh, NC, her brother Ira Levin of West Hartford, CT, grandson Eric Wilson of New York, NY, granddaughter Stacey Wilson together with husband Robert Williamson of Portland, OR and her adored great-grandchildren, Tyler and Emily Williamson. Roz was predeceased by Robert, her devoted husband of 55 years, and her beloved son, Michael.
A private graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, December 14 at Beth El Temple Cemetery with Rabbi James Rosen officiating.
