Ruth (Marmulstein) Sheintop

d. May 15, 2022

Ruth Sheintop, 92, of Farmington, formerly West Hartford, passed away on Sunday, May 15. She was born on November 2, 1929 in New York, NY to Rose and Benjamin Marmulstein, and was the beloved sister of Mildred, Ceil, Renee and Vivian. Ruth was pre-deceased by her husband of 39 years, Herb Sheintop, who she met while on vacation in the Catskills. She will be missed by her children David (Linda) and Andrew, along with her grandchildren Lauren, Jay, and Sofia. Ruth derived a great deal of pleasure from providing for and caring for her family. In addition to her loyal support of the family business (Herb’s Sport Shop), she enjoyed tennis, pickleball, tap dancing and going to Broadway shows. Ruth was an elementary school teacher for many years, beginning in NJ, where she spent most of her childhood, and then in West Hartford after she got married, where she raised her family and taught for 33 years. A graveside service will be held on May 18 at 11:00 am at the Beth El Cemetery in Avon. Memorial contributions may be made to Southington Bread for Life, 31 Vermont Avenue, Southington, CT 06489 or to a charity of your choice.
