Ruth Wile

Ruth (Chaikin) Wile, 99, of Bloomfield, CT formerly of Fairfield, CT,passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. She was born on July 23, 1916 in Brooklyn, NY to Morris and Sarah Chaikin. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Morris Joshua Wile, her sister Alyce Kleinman, and her brother Leon Chaikin. She leaves behind her sister, Adele Thomas. Ruth is survived by her son Dr Lawrence Wile and his wife Gerri (Galin) Wile. She also leaves behind the loves of her life, her grandchildren Aaron Wile, Melissa and Jonah Simon, Kenneth Decker and his wife, Wendy Stanton, Brian Decker, and three great grandchildren, Isaiah, Zoe, and Desmond Decker. Ruth loved golf, bridge, mahjong, reading, and tried not to miss a night of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! She donated to many Jewish charities, including the Jewish Federation, Hadassah, Technion, Magen David, and The Jewish National Fund, as well as Cystic Fibrosis and numerous other charities.

A graveside funeral service we be held at the Loyalty Cemetery in Fairfield, CT on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Noon. After the funeral, friends are invited to the home of Ruth’s son, Larry Wile, 8 Winged Foot Blvd., Bloomfield, CT from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The Family wishes to thank the staff of Hartford Hospital and all Ruth’s friends and the staff at Duncaster for all their care and support.
