Sally Goldberg Bercowetz died Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at the hospice at Arden Court in Avon. She was born in Minneapolis, MN on Dec. 28, 1915. While working as a secretary to a military officer at Bradley Field during World War II, she met Max Bercowetz. They were later married in Hartford. For much of her life, Mrs. Bercowetz was active with synagogue functions and teaching at Hebrew schools in both Hartford and West Hartford, including serving as president of a Hadassah chapter. She spent her life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by two sons: Allen Bercowetz of Chloride, AZ and Sherman Bercowetz and his wife Sharon of West Hartford; and grandsons Jesse Bercowetz of New York, NY, and Matthew and Adam Bercowetz of West Hartford. We’ll miss you, Mom. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 6, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Teferes Israel Cemetery, Meriline Avenue, West Hartford, with Rabbi James Rosen officiating.
