Sally (Gelfand) Berman

Sally Berman died Thursday, June 9th, at Windham Hospital, Willimantic, CT. The daughter of Benjamin and Fannie Gelfand, she was born in Jersey City, NJ, grew up in Brooklyn, NY and moved back to Jersey City after getting married. She recently moved to Storrs, CT. Surviving are her son Gary and his wife Kathy of Mansfield; a grandson Mitchell Berman and his wife Carol of Hong Kong; a grandson Keith Berman of Chicago, IL; a brother Milton Gelfand of Pound Ridge, NY; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Henry, a sister Estele, and a brother Norman. She retired as comptroller of Audio Matic, Inc., an international tape duplicating company in New York City. She was a past president of the Jersey City Parents Council. A private graveside service will be held on Sunday at the Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Windham Hospital Emergency Department Fund, 112 Mansfield Ave., Willimantic, CT 06226. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
