Sarah Sally ((Silverman)) Shaskin

d. January 1, 1970

Sarah Sally (Silverman) Shaskin, 93 years of age, of Manchester, CT, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Abraham Shaskin. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Esther (Orenstein) Silverman.

Sally graduated from Weaver High School and worked as a Key Punch Operator and at CBT Bank in her later years. Sally enjoyed cooking, especially Cherry Cheesecake, her specialty. Her hobbies included bowling, camping, scrap-booking and she was her daughters’ Girl Scout Leader while they were growing up.

Sally is survived by her son, Richard Shaskin and his wife, Lucille, of Amston, CT; her daughters, Barbara Kraft and her husband, Howard, of Mahwah, NJ, Louise Goodwin of Andover, CT and Karen Meredith and husband, Bill of Palm Coast, FL; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Sally was predeceased by her son, Gary Shaskin , her son-in-law, David Goodwin and her brother Hy Silverman.

Funeral services will take place at 12:30pm on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, 80 Wolcott Road, East Granby, CT with Rabbi Philip Lazowski officiating. Immediately following the interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at the home of Kate Goodwin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org). Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, CT.
