Selma Milkofsky Schwartz, 99, of West Hartford passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 in West Hartford. Selma was born on January 10, 1924, the daughter of Jacob and Rose (Yaffo) Milkofsky of East Hartford, Connecticut. Selma was a graduate of Hartford College for Women and Penn State.

At Penn State, Selma met David Schwartz of the Bronx, New York while he was in military training. After the war, David moved to Hartford, Connecticut, where he married Selma in 1946.

Selma is survived by sons Gerald Schwartz and wife Janet of New Britain, and Jonathan Schwartz and wife Janet of Wilmot, NH; grandchildren Benjamin, Rebecca, and Andrew; step-grandson Casey Hubelbank; step-granddaughter Buffy Hubelbank-Gudwin, her husband, Josh Gudwin, and step-great granddaughter, Amelia Grace Gudwin; great granddaughter, Ruby Eleanor Schwartz; and great grandson, Oscar Levi Schwartz.

Funeral services will be held graveside at 2PM on Friday, April 14, 2023 with Rabbi David J. Small officiating. Burial will be at Hartford Mutual Society Memorial Park, 74 Wolcott Road in East Granby. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be sent to acharity of your choice.

A gathering will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 17 at Hoffman Summerwood, 160 Simsbury Road in West Hartford.
