Seymour Freedman, 81, of Delray Beach, FL, formerly of West Hartford, died Thursday, December 10, 2009 in Florida. Born in Hartford, May 26,1928, he was the son of the late Hyman and Rose (Chorches) Freedman. He was the owner of Freedman Electric Company in Hartford which was involved with many commercial projects in greater Hartford, including the UConn Medical Center in Farmington. He was a founding member of Beth El Temple of West Hartford, and a founding member of Cliffside Country Club, Simsbury. He leaves his wife, Sherry (Angel) Freedman; a son: Mark Freedman and his wife Francine of Covina, CA; two daughters: Holly Berkon and her husband Alvin of West Hartford and Amy Eisner and her husband Larry of Coventry; four grandchildren: Bethany Murphy, Eric and Emily Freedman and Ross Eisner; and two sisters: Gloria Sack and her husband Edward of Madison, and Phyllis Levinson and her husband Jerry of Lakewood Ranch, FL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, with Rabbi James Rosen and Rabbi Stanley M. Kessler officiating. Interment will follow in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield. A memorial period will be observed Monday, following the funeral through Wednesday evening, at the home of his daughter, Holly, 4 Ironwood Rd., West Hartford.
