FRUCHTMAN, Simpson Fruchtman, 90, of Columbia died Sunday, February 8, 2009 in Delray Beach, FL. Born in Millburn, NJ, he was the son of the late Samuel and Frances (Cantor) Fruchtman. He served in the US Army during World War II. Simpson owned and operated a professional pharmacy and surgical center in Summit, NJ for 38 years before he retired. He leaves his wife, Celia (Berkowitz) Fruchtman; his son, Dr. Hal Fruchtman and his wife Cindy of Newtown, PA; his daughter, Ina Layne of Delray Beach, FL; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary of Temple B?nai Israel, 345 Jackson St., Willimantic with Rabbi Jeremy Schwartz officiating. Interment will follow in Congregation Agudas Achim Cemetery, Mansfield. A memorial period will be observed at the home of Hy and Anita Stollman, Old Hebron Rd., Colchester, through Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Agudas Achim, P.O. Box 367, Columbia 06237 or to Temple B?nai Israel, 345 Jackson St., Willimantic 06226.
