Stewart Jeffery Tinturin, 68, of Wethersfield, Connecticut passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025. A Connecticut native and son of the late Melvin and Stella (Eiferman) Tinturin, Stewart was born on May 21,1956.
Stewart was a very warm, caring, highly educated man with a Master of Health Science (Medical Laboratory Science-Pathology) a Master of Arts in Neuroscience, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts. He always considered himself a lifelong student.
Although Stewart had a varied work life, he considered his most important position to be that of a tutor/instructor. Working primarily with high school and college students, his vast knowledge of math and science coupled with his sweet, kind, and caring nature enabled him to engage students and assist them in reaching their educational goals.
Stewart was a man of numerous interests including books, trains, weather, chemistry, chess, and felines. Stewart had a very casual lifestyle and enjoyed the simplicity of a beautiful sunrise and sunset, walks on the boardwalk in Niantic CT, used book sales, and lunch at Modern Apizza in New Haven. He was humorous and loved to giggle at his own jokes.
Stewart is survived by: his significant other of twenty- seven years, Meryl Tom, his Aunt Esther and cousins Gail Ogle and her children, Richard and Morgan, Jeanette Yurman, and many wonderful new and longstanding friends.
Friends and family are invited to Stewart's funeral service on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave, Hartford. Interment will follow at Kol Haverim Cemetery in Wethersfield.
