Sylvia (Roth) Eliasoff

Sylvia (Roth) Eliasoff, 98, died peacefully at home Sunday (November 2, 2008) surrounded by her family. She was born December 28, 1909 in New York City, daughter of Samuel and Gussie Roth. She was predeceased by Manus, her loving husband of 64 years and her siblings, Sidney, Ruth, Emanuel and Helen. A resident of Manchester since 1993, Sylvia had enjoyed a 42 year career as a dedicated and inspiring chemistry teacher in New York City Public Schools. Sylvia devoted time and energy in her retirement years to her family, her community, Jewish values, studies and the State of Israel. She maintained her independence and dignity into her final days. Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Amy of Oakton, VA., Linda of Beit Zayit, Israel and Ellen Kloehn and her husband Edward of Manchester and grandchildren, Edward, Ethan, Eric Kloehn and Omer, Rya and Ramon (Moni) Zeltzer of Israel. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 4 at 12 Noon at Temple Beth Sholom, Manchester with interment following at Temple Beth Sholom Memorial Park. The Shiva period will be observed at the Eliasoff home in Manchester, Tuesday through Sunday.
