Sylvia (Stern) Lipman

Sylvia (Stern) Lipman, 101 years of age, of Boca Raton, FL, formerly of New Britain, CT, died Tuesday, October 3, 2017. She was the widow of Maurice E. Lipman. Born in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Helen (Schrelicky) Stern. Sylvia received her Associates Degree from George Washington University. She was a member of the March of Dimes and various Jewish organizations.

She leaves her sons, Andrew D. Lipman and his wife Deborah of Bethesda, MD, and Richard S. Lipman and his wife Karen of Iowa City, IA; her grandchildren, Abigail and her husband Jason, Elyse and her husband Matthew, Joshua and his fiancé Elana, Michael and Molly ; and her great-grandchildren, Cody Mace and Eli Leon.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Beth Alom Cemetery, Allen St., New Britain, CT. Following the interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at the Farmington Marriott, 15 Farm Springs Rd., Farmington, CT 06032. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the March of Dimes or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, CT.
