William Z ("Bill") Katz

William (Bill) Zalman Katz, age 83, of West Hartford passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Norma Klein Katz, his daughter, Sheryl Katz Elias and her husband Ernest, his daughter Susan Katz Kessler and her husband David, his brother Joseph J. Katz and his wife Seena, and six grandchildren. Bill was a lifelong resident of West Hartford, a graduate of Northfield/Mt. Herman School and Purdue University. He worked as a local pharmacist and then went on to work for the State of Connecticut Department of Income Maintenance. Funeral services will be held at Weinstein Mortuary on 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford at 1 pm on Monday, January 30. Contributions in his memory may be made to Beth El Temple, 2626 Albany Avenue, West Hartford.
