Maxine Adams (Teller), 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 with her family by her side. She is survived by her loving son, Steven E. Adams and friend Barbara Guida of Torrington, CT, grandson Jacob Adams and his fiancé Karina Huayllani Cuti of South Windsor, granddaughter Sarah Rose Nelson and husband Matt of Brooklyn NY.
Maxine was born in Hartford to Jacob and Charlotte (Rosenstein) Teller and raised in West Hartford, together with many relatives. She graduated from William Hall High School before attending the University of Connecticut, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. She had a career of helping others working as a licensed social worker for the State of Connecticut and then Visiting Nurses of Hartford until her retirement in 2003. Her hobbies included opera, was an avid pianist, she loved watching UConn basketball, playing Scrabble, going to the beach in the convertible, spending time with family, and had a great sense of humor! She loved purple and wore it almost every day. Also, she was a big fan of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups or anything peanut butter with chocolate.
She was predeceased by her father and mother Jacob and Charlotte Teller, her daughter Robin Adams, and her brother Charles Teller and his wife Patricia.
We would also like to extend our highest gratitude to the Avon Health Center who took great care of Maxine during the last 5+ years.
