Edith Neiman Alster, 81, of Cedarwood Lane, Newington died Saturday (May 17, 2008). She was born in Hartford and was life long resident. She was the widow of Felix Alster. She was a member of Congregation B’nai Sholom Sisterhood, Senior Center of Newington, Auxillary of Hebrew Home and Hospital, Wolkowysker Society, Amit-Mizrachi, Bess and Paul Siegel Hebrew Academy of Greater Hartford, Red Mogen David, Newington Red Hat Society and was Secretary of Newington Chapter of AARP. She leaves a son, Jason Alster of New Britain; a daughter and her husband, Audrey and Martin Yanofsky of Newington; a brother, Irving Neiman of Santa Monica, CA and four grandchildren, Jeremy and Michael Yanofsky; Shanee and Limor Alster. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 20 at 12:30 p.m. with Rabbi David J. Small oficiating in the Chapel of Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford. Interment, Wolkowysker Society Cemetery, Tower Ave. Hartford. The memorial week will be observed at the home of Audrey and Martin Yanofsky, 273 Cedarwood Lane, Newington.
