Irma (Wolf) Abramson, 83, of Bloomfield died Sunday, (November 26, 2006) at St. Francis Hospital. She is survived by her loving family, Leo Abramson, her beloved husband of 59 years, her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Robert Giunta, of Simsbury, her son Robert Abramson of Pittsburgh, PA and her grandchildren, Erica and Lauren Giunta of Boston, MA. Irma was born in Quincy, MA, daughter of Rebecca and William Wolf. She graduated from Simmons College School of Nursing in 1945. Irma worked for the Visiting Nurses of Hartford, Mount Sinai Hospital, and the Hartford School System as a nurse. After receiving her Masters degree in Education, Irma became a health educator in the Hartford School system. She was a member of Beth Hillel Synagogue, the Association of Jewish Registered Nurses and gave her time to various charitable organizations. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Tuesday, November 28, at 1:30 PM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, with interment following in the Beth Hillel Cemetery, East Granby. A memorial period will be observed at the home of her daughter, Jean, 42 Musket Trail, Simsbury, Tuesday following the funeral from 3-9 PM and Wednesday 3-9 PM.
