SOKOLOFF, Alice B. Sokoloff, 65, of West Hartford passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 17, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with a neurological illness. She was born on April 17, 1941 in Hartford to the late Max and Minnie (Zucker) Berman and grew up in West Hartford. A graduate of CCSC, she was president of that school?s Honor Society. Her all too brief career at Southern New England Telephone was cut short by the onset of her illness. Despite the disabilities and hardships she endured Alice was always there with a warm greeting and friendly smile for all. She was particularly appreciative of the care she received at the Hebrew Home and Hospital and that facility?s entire staff, many of whom, over the years, became true friends as well as care givers. The funeral was held on Monday, March 19 at the John Hay Memorial Park, Garden St., Hartford with Rabbi Gary L. Atkins officiating. A memorial service celebrating the goodness of Alice?s life will be held at the Hebrew Home and Hospital at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hebrew Home and Hospital, 1 Abrahms Blvd., West Hartford 06117. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
