Anne

(Lassoff)

Goldfarb

Obituary

Anne (Lassoff) Goldfarb, a long-time West Hartford resident, passed away peacefully at home on November 23, 2013. She was born November 11, 1916 in Hartford to Millie and Benjamin Lassoff. She was the widow of Robert Goldfarb of West Hartford. They were married for 34 years. Anne was a talented and accomplished clarinet player while attending Hartford High School. She worked briefly at her late husband’s restaurant, Jensen’s, formerly on Pratt Street in Hartford. She was an active member of Beth El Synagogue and Hadassah. She enjoyed playing tennis, knitting, playing bridge and Mahjongg. And she liked to cook, read and go to the movies. She worked out at the gym into her nineties. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and close friends. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Debra (Herman) Isenstein, of Milford, Barry (Judy) Goldfarb, of Higganum, David Goldfarb of Vernon; 11 loving grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; her brother Lawrence Lassoff, Boca Raton and Chicago. She was preceded in death by her sister, Fannie Lassoff; her two brothers, Fred and Nate Lassoff; and a granddaughter, Mandy Cooper. The family wishes to thank everyone at Masonicare in East Hartford for their kindness and wonderful care, especially Mary Hebb as well as Debra Martin and Charlene Young for their loving care, kindness and comfort. A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26 at 2 pm at Beth El Cemetery in Avon. The family will receive mourners at Anne’s home, 893 Farmington Avenue, Apt. 2F immediately following burial until 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Masonicare Partners, 111 Founders Plaza, East Hartford, Connecticut 06108 or a charity of choice. I was related to Aunt Anne through my late husband, Herbert Sokol, of New Britain. His mother was Ella Goldfarb, Anne's sister-in-law; Ella's father was "Grandpa Morris" Goldfarb. I've had the pleasure of acquainting with the family since the 1970s, also at Anne's 80th birthday party--hosted by her daughter, Debbie Isenstein of Milford--with dozens of her close friends. My own family was honored in 2005, when Anne & Debbie attended son Todd Sokol's wedding in Las Vegas--occasion for a family/ cousins reunion. The stories live on: summers on the CT Shore, mementos from Bobby's restaurant, etc. With fond memories and heartfelt condolences.

So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing.
Dear Barry and Judy and Family,
Our deepest sympathy to you all.
Many memories of times past...
I can still see your Mom at the register at Jensen's, and
at your home on countless holidays.
May she rest in peace, and may all of your memories be of happy times shared.
Our love,
Marilyn and Alan Byer
