PLISKIN, Bernard Pliskin, 88 years of age, of West Hartford died Sunday, November 1, 2009. Born in The Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Max and Dora Pliskin. Bernard served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. He graduated from CCNY in New York and Brooklyn Law School. He went to work as a CPA for the accounting firm of Rashba & Pokart in New York and went on to head the firm and retired in the late 1980’s. He leaves his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Lilyan (Karp) Pliskin; two sons, Jeffrey L. Pliskin of Clinton, NY, and Fred Pliskin and his wife Sherri of West Hartford; three grandchildren, Nathan Pliskin, Hannah Pliskin, and Madeline Pliskin; and a sister Beatrice Garel of Lauderdale Lakes, FL.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Ilana Garber officiating. Interment will follow in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield. Shiva will be observed at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Sherri Pliskin, 161 West Ridge Dr., West Hartford, Tuesday following the funeral through Friday morning.
