We both are saddened to hear of Chas's passing. We knew Chas from the CT sports club 30+ years ago. He was a wonderful person. We are so sorry for your loss.

It is with great disbelief that I heard on Chas's passing. He was a good friend and collegue to many of us who knew him. I morn his passing but smile and remember the weekends on Nantucket, the cocktails on the beach on Block Island and the many ski trips. To his family, my deepest sympathy but know that he was loved by many of us and will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, Chas.

Dear Caron and Family,

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Chuck. It has been a long time since I saw him or any of our small family. I am sorry we all have let so much time pass and this is a somber way to be in touch. I have you all in my thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time. You have my sincere sympathy.

With Love,
Your cousin Cheryl

I am so sorry for your loss. Caron, I live in the home you grew up in. My (our) neighbors and people I've met in the community have always spoken so highly of your family, and we have mutual friends. I recently learned that my father knows your husband and his brother from New Haven. If you'd like to stop by anytime, I'd love to meet you, and you're more than welcome to visit your old home if you would like to. Please don't hesitate to call me or just come by. Again, my condolences on the loss of your brother. Wishing you comfort and peace at this ad time. Warmly, Joanne Cohen, MSW, LCSW

Caron and family - For many years, and to our good fortune, Chuck was treated as family, from picnics to celebrations to Sunday dinners, to being there as a friend. And that will always be said with a great deal of pride.

I don’t know if the transition from lifeguard to social worker was as harmoniously evident then, as it is now, but he spent much of his remarkable life taking care of others. When Chuck entered a room, his presence was instantly felt, filling it with humor and compassion, and always lending definition to the nuances of the moment. And upon departure, it’s a tribute that it be so significant. Please accept our heartfelt respect and sympathy, Love, Jim and Diane Luddecke and family.

My thoughts and sympathies are with your family. Chas will be greatly missed by so many people. He was a very thoughtful man, and had a knack for making people laugh and smile. He was a big part of the reason for my joining my old ski club -He was on the first trip I attended and he made me (and my friends) feel very welcome, made us laugh (a lot!!) and made us feel like we had known him forever. That charming and bubbly personality continued, and we shared many laughs throughout the years. I was so sorry to hear that he was sad in the end... and that he has left us.
