Joanne and family - I just heard the news and and can’t quite believe it. I have known Dan since the ‘60’s when he was my Dad’s attorney and friend. Dan has handled my legal work for 50 years and just updated our Wills a few months ago. He was my close advisor, brilliant mentor, and trusted friend who shall be missed. I believe Dan is with Meredith again watching over all of us. Please accept our deepest condolences from the entire Goff family.

I remember Dan as Meredith’s loving and attentive dad. Meredith always told me how much she enjoyed her talks with her dad and how much she valued his advice and guidance. He was a lovely man and I’m so sorry to hear of his passing.

We will miss his great smile and his positive spirit. When you talked to him you felt he was really interested in what you had to say. He will be missed. Joanne, you are in our thought. Wish we could give you a hug.

It's been years since our paths have crossed when you and I worked together at the Greater Hartford Chamber of Commerce and Dan was a young attorney and active Jaycee member, but I have fond memories of those times. I always remember Dan as a your boy, playing ball with us in the North End of Hartford. Joanne, we all thought a great deal of Dan. Dear Joanne and family, I was so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. We got to know each other when we served on the West Hartford Town Council in the 1970s. Although we belonged to different parties, we shared a love for the town of West Hartford and its residents. Dan was indeed known for his wit and his memorable stories. Recently we met and laughed about a long-ago zoning matter that we opposed together and lost - - and he still thought we were right. My wife Diana and I send you our deepest sympathy.

Although a Florida "snowbird", I fly home to Connecticut daily via The Hartford COURANT and have been sadly shocked two-weeks in a row by learning of obits for Jerry -- and NOW -- Dan Blume -- two of the most talented guys I've ever been privileged to know.
Jerry, who died in Los Angeles just last week, was a top-notch on-air broadcast personality, as was his older brother Dan. However, Dan was best-known as a top-notch attorney. Both were all-around great guys; smart,humorous,highly-principled,GOOD people. Their late father,Joe, was also in Broadcasting, as a violinist with one of the old, old WTIC orchestras. What a family! Everyone who knew them is lessened by their departure, but blessed by the continuing memories we'll always have from their being part of our lives. I'm very, very saddened by today's news -- and very, very proud to have called all of them "friends".

Our families have such a history of fun times and good memories. I am so sad to hear of Danny’s passing. Danny was such a colorful, kind and generous man. I will always have fond memories of him as our across the street neighbor and friend. Dan was our attorney for more than 35 years, but he was more than that. He was our friend. We loved his ever inspiring positivity and level headedness whenever we sought counsel from him. Dear Joanne I send my condolences to you and your family. I was overwhelmed when I heard about Danny. We had such a great time together working on the Weaver reunions. He always left everyone with a big smile on his face. Again, believe me, I know exactly how you feel.
