David S. Galinsky, 82 years of age, of West Hartford, died Saturday, (January 5, 2013) peacefully with his wife and children at his side. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Louis and Bertha (Stein) Galinsky. David was a graduate of Hartford High School, served in the US Army and the US Air Force during the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Hartford with a B.S. degree in business. He was the Housing Director for the State of Connecticut until he retired. He went on to work for the Town of Vernon as a Housing Inspector and for the Department of Housing in Rockville. “A train, electronics, & history enthusiast”. He was predeceased by his beloved sister Julia Naviasky. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Lois (Kosto) Galinsky; cherished father of his son, Leonard Galinsky and his wife Robin, and their daughter Arielle of Canton, MA; daughters Janice Galinsky and Ilene Galinsky both of West Roxbury, MA; devoted grandfather to Arielle Galinsky; and beloved uncle to Laurence Naviasky and his wife Barbara; great-nephews Jacob, Gabriel, & Ethan of Delmare, NY; Robert Naviasky and his wife Sharon of Waterford; sister-in-law Norma & Herbert Fienman and family; Morton & Dorothy Kosto and family; Estelle & Irwin Feigelman and family; Shirley & Stanley Goldhaber and family.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, with Rabbi Press officiating. Interment will follow in the Temple Beth Torah Memorial Park, Jordan Lane Ext., Wethersfield. A memorial period will be observed Tues., Wed., & Thurs. evening at their home in West Hartford.
