Edith “Edie” Kupersmith Baskin, 88, of Windsor Locks CT, passed away peacefully on May 6th, 2023.
Edie was preceded in death by her beloved sister and best friend, Mollie K. Ettinger, along with her brother-in-law, James Ettinger. She is survived by her three sons and their wives: Scott and Maureen; Joe and Cindy; and Glen and Marianne. She leaves behind her niece and nephews Jodi, Robert, and Jeffrey, along with her seven grandchildren Zachary, Brent, Emily, Samantha, Joshua, Blake and Lauren. They were the most important people in her life.
Edie was born on June 11th, 1934 in Hartford, CT. She was the daughter of the late Max and Gertrude (Kaufman) Kupersmith. She graduated from Weaver High School in 1952. Edie was a founding member of Temple Beth Hillel, in South Windsor Connecticut, where she was an active participant in the congregation. She enjoyed playing tennis and Mahjong in her younger years.
Edie dedicated 25 years to Turbine Control Inc. in Bloomfield, CT, enjoying her work as the secretary to the President, Glen Greenberg. She valued her work and the time she spent there immensely.
Her family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the staff of Hartford Hospital, especially the nurses and aides for their wonderful care. They would also like to thank Stonebrook Village of Windsor Locks for providing her a wonderful community of friends.
Edie was a kind and thoughtful soul, and she will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside ceremony that will be held Tuesday, May 9th, 2023 at 11:30am, at Piaterer Verein Cemetery, 623-629 Jordan Lane, in Wethersfield, CT.
