I had the honor of meeting Efrem when I was 14 or 15 years old and he was working on his property near the hospital in Manchester. The first job I was ever hired for. Efrem was an honorable man who always spoke highly of his wife and family. While we lost touch over the years, I had the opportunity to speak to him a few years ago on the phone and we shared some great memories. He will be missed. Please know that you are all in my prayers this day.

I am so saddened to hear of Efrem's passing. Through my many dealings with Efrem over the years I have always known him to be a true gentleman, with a passion for the business to the end. He spoke with tremendous love and devotion about his family, always relaying something new about his grandkids. One of a kind! A legendary member of the industry. My most sincere condolences to the Jaffe family.

Sheldon, we wish to express our sympathy to you upon the
death of your brother. Our visit to your home two years ago
brought us an awareness of his long presence in Manchester.
Since then, although we did not have an opportunity to meet
him personally, we came to realize that we had mutual friends
who described him as an enjoyable person and valued colleague.
You and Nancy are in our thoughts,
Dick and Jan

Efrem was a good friend and mentor while I was the director of the JCC. He was a respected member of our Board. I just returned from Israel and apologize for the delay in writing.

I'm going to miss you, old friend. I enjoyed our bi-weekly meetings at the Vernon Diner, the smelly cigars and all the cornball jokes. Friendship is all about respect and trust and you were the shining star of that friendship.

On behalf of myself and the entire DeMeo family we send our deepest condolences for your loss. Effrem was a familar face in our office since I was a child and I know how extremely fond both he and my father were of each other. After my fathers passing I always left Effrem with a smile and great pride as he relished in the stories the two of them shared. He will be truly missed and remembered fondly.

After working for Efrem for 21 years I could write a book about our times but there is not enough room to do this. I do want to share the ones I remember the most. His cigars! boy did they stink but he kept reminding me that they cost a lot and he couldn't smoke them at home so we at work had the pleasure. His jokes-well he was the only one laughing most of the time but he tried. When we ordered pizza at work, I would have to order s small one just for him with toppings of his liking which I will not to this day disclose but the list did not contain any veggies. As he took each bite he would keep reminding me not to tell Maxine! One morning I received a call from a woman all in an up roar that a brief case and papers were all over her front lawn. Just then Efrem was coming through the door. I asked him were his brief case was and he said oh I forgot it in the car. I waited a few minutes and yep Efrem came running back in with that panic moment of disbelief shouting he's famous Oh Sh..Oh Sh.. Well we found it Efrem, it's all over a woman's lawn in Manchester. Now he is running out the door still repeating his Oh Sh.. Oh sh... Again these are just a few of our times working together. I also remember the lessons and directions he taught me along the way financially, personally and just everyday up and downs. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.
