She attended Yale University, Ithaca College and received her BA and MA from the Hartt School of Music after her children were grown. Eleanor admired perfection in all things which was why she loved her “women,” the UCONN Women’s Basketball team, but most of all she loved her husband, Richard, and the family they created together. Summer outings to Tanglewood were a staple of growing up Steier, as were a myriad of family activities. It was rare for Eleanor to miss a child or grandchild’s recital or concert. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Charitable donations can be made in Eleanor Steier’s memory to the UConn Women’s Basketball Program.
