Elliott Resnick, 94 years of age, of Bloomfield, CT, formerly of White Plains, NY passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Born in New York, NY he was the son of the late Julius and Cecelia (Halpern) Resnick. Elliott was a veteran of World War II where he was a member of the 104th Infantry Division (The Timberwolves). He served in France, Belgium, Germany and Holland and was one of the soldiers who liberated Nordhausen concentration camp in Germany.
Elliott graduated from City College of New York where he majored in accounting. He founded the CPA firm of Resnick & Newman in 1952 in White Plains. It is still operating today in Tarrytown, NY. He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York Society of Certified Public Accountants. He was a member of Temple Kol Ami in White Plains for 45 years.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Everyone who knew him admired him for his unselfishness, his integrity and caring ways. He leaves his wife Judith (Rabinowitz) Resnick, his daughters, Beth Stauffer and her husband Martin of West Hartford, CT, Paula Burke of Bloomfield, CT, and Jill Bergman and her husband Keith of Danbury; his grandchildren, Kenneth Schwartz, Adam Kalt and his wife Lauren, Hilary Rae Bergman, Julie Kalt and her husband Adam Kornetsky, and Eli Hein and his wife Sage Redclay; and his great-grandson, Braden Elliott Kalt.
Funeral services will be held at 12:15pm on Sunday May 1, 2016 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, CT 06105. Interment will follow at Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, Wolcott Rd., East Granby, CT. Following the interment through Tuesday May 3, 2016 the family will receive relatives and friends at his home, 4 Biltmore Park, Bloomfield, CT 06002.
